Trench Coat Weather

Last week, my husband and I spent the day in San Francisco. I love that we live 45 minutes away and if you leave early enough, you miss any traffic! We ate chocolate croissants and lattes at a little French cafe’. Our 4 year old son, Will, came with us and while I had my hair done at the salon, Neil and Will explored the city. After I was done, we walked around Chinatown which still had the Chinese New Year’s decorations up.  I love visiting San Francisco. There has always been a huge part of me that  feels like a city girl inside even though I grew up in a town full of vineyards and cowboys. When I was a teenager, I spent three Summers in New York City, by myself in a Julliard dorm, dancing with School of American Ballet. Maybe that is where this longing to be in a big city stems from?

Red, White and Love

I don’t love Valentine’s Day for the gifts, the chocolates or the mushy card. I love it because it’s a day dedicated to showing the person or persons in your life how much YOU love THEM. Don’t get me wrong, I love me a mushy card but who it’s from is what puts a smile on my face and melts my heart. Life becomes so busy and chaotic with four kiddos that we probably don’t celebrate our love enough. This year, Valentine’s Day is a little more symbolic for us.

The Motorcycle Jacket

I love any excuse to rock my leather moto jacket. It can be easily used for a relaxed look or even paired with a cute dress. I have also worn this jacket with yoga pants and a sweatshirt to drop my kids off at school. That’s how awesome it is!

I’m sure it’s no surprise to you that I would be super into Valentine’s Day. I love any excuse to celebrate love and of course, give gifts. Even if you aren’t in a relationship and want to celebrate an important friendship, this day can still be fun and special. My favorite Valentine’s Day was always the first one I spent with my husband in our first apartment. I woke up and there were dozens of red balloons, roses and a bag full of goodies. He even got up early to run and get my favorite Starbucks drink .         Ah, young love.
