Friday Q&A: What I love Most About Living In California, My Biggest Fear, Coffee and More

I have been looking forward to today for the last few weeks. Neil and I are spending some much needed one on one time together while the kids hang out with Grandma and Grandpa. I can’t wait to be sitting on the beach with a glass of champagne in my hand at one of our favorite places to visit! Today on CCG, I am sharing another Friday Q&A post with some of the questions I have gotten this week on Instagram. Also, don’t forget about the Amazon giveaway! You have until Saturday night to enter by commenting on a CCG post (maybe this one) and following me on Instagram!

1. What do you love most about living in California?

There are so many things I love about living in California (not the housing prices). If I had to pick just one, it would be that we are close enough where we can experience the beach, yet also equally close to the Sierras for snow. We spent quite a bit of time in Lake Tahoe this Winter and now, this weekend we will be at the beach! If you plan a trip in California, you could easily take a week road tripping it down the coast. Weather here is also pretty awesome most of the time.

2. How often do you clean out your closet? Isn’t it hard to keep everything? And do you sell or giveaway when you clean out?

Well…..if you were to ask my husband, he would probably say never. Ha! I am REALLY bad at getting rid of things and doing clean outs. I still have 8 tubs of baby clothing under our stairs which I narrowed down from 12-14. Where is the monkey gasping emoji when ya need it? Over time, I have definitely gotten better at getting rid of items. I try to go through my closet every season and either donate, sell or pack it away until I am ready to get rid of it. I donate gently used items that probably cost under $100 and then sell my designer items on POSHMARK. You can follow me and check out my clothing here.

3. What is your favorite coffee shop in San Francisco?

There is an adorable French café across the street from where I get my hair colored called Café De La Presse. Just a quick walk from Union Square and loads of shopping, Café De La Presse has the best coffee and fresh croissants! I also love Le Marais in the Castro district as well. Neil bought me my own Breville Espresso Machine right before my surgeries and I use that thing every single morning like I’m a damn Barista. He is so happy at how much we are now saving on my morning Starbucks trips. I also think my espresso drinks are just as good!

4. What is my biggest fear?

Hmmm…this is a dark one. I guess after going through the scary medical issues I went through and leading up to it, my biggest fear was dying and leaving my 4 kids and husband. I want to live long enough to see my kids grow up and have their own kids. Being apart of that is something I can’t imagine leaving this Earth without doing. I’m also afraid of snakes and flying on airplanes. Funny, we just went to the Zoo this week and all Nicky wanted to see were the snakes and we left with a 5 foot long fake stuffed one. He’s currently sleeping with it as I type.

5. Do you have a monthly clothing budget or do you just buy as you see a new investment piece you love?

I do not have a budget, however, my husband would love for that to be ZERO. Ha Ha Ha. Seriously though. If there is something I have my eye on, I will either wait and save up, or use some of the funds I made from selling other pieces on Poshmark and Ebay to help fund it.

6. What is your favorite color to wear in the Spring?

I love wearing anything colorful in Spring and Summer months. I especially love wearing different shades of blue as well as pink and yellow!

Thanks for sharing a little about yourself. California sounds amazing! I envy all the variety and choices. I live in the Midwest, and I would love to have something other than Starbucks once in a while. There aren’t too many independent shops.
