Ravenswood And The Color Block Skirt

A couple of weeks ago, we spent the morning at Ravenswood, a historical site, here in Livermore. I have always loved visiting this place and someday plan to possibly host our renewal of vows there…..someday. The entire property is beyond gorgeous. We were able to explore inside the main house that exudes this amazing retro feel as well as the acres of lush garden and trees this property provides. We did not venture into the vineyards for fear my shoes would end up mud blocks since it had rained earlier in the week. Just another excuse to make another trip there soon.

One of the many beautiful spots on this property is the large wrap around porch. It has a very East Coast feel to it and I must say I feel completely at home here. In fact, when can I move in?! Built in the 1870’s, this place used to be one of the larger early vineyards in Livermore producing 500,000 gallons of wine per year. If interested, check out the free tours given by costumed docents on the second and fourth Sunday each month. They also hold an annual old-fashioned ice cream social one day in August. We plan to take the kids there this year.

Now about this outfit, right? Can I just say, this skirt has to be my favorite skirt I have ever worn. The best part about it besides the colorful candy stripes, is that it has side pockets! This is a big factor for me when I am looking to buy a new skirt or dress. I can easily hide my keys, chapstick, my kids granola bar…wink wink, inside. I wore it with a ruffle wrap top by Sea, linked below, as well as some nude sandals. I could easily blog about how wonderful this top is as well. It literally can go with anything and I imagine I will wear it weekly for a while. How cute is this clutch?! It’s the perfect size and comes in different embroidered styles like ice cream, coconuts, and palm trees. My sunglasses are an older version, but check out The Real Real where they have them for a fraction of the price AND they have a 20% code right now! Stay tuned for more pictures from inside Ravenswood later in the week!
