My Top 5 Hats for Summer
Today on CCG, I wanted to list some of my favorite hats for this season. Not only are hats a great accessory to any look, but they help keep those powerful rays off your face; which is something I didn’t really think about until the last few years as wrinkles started to show. I always thought my mom looked so goofy wearing her HUGE visor while slathering on the sunscreen. However, now, I find myself doing the same thing in hopes to stop time from showing all over my face. You can still look amazing while protecting your skin from the sun. I have listed my top five hats for Spring/Summer chicness. 1. Eugenia Kim Brigitte Boater Hat
If I had to pick just one hat to wear, it would be this one. I am a fan of straw hats for Summer and this one is my ultimate favorite. I also love the feminine black ribbon and bow that adds to it’s detail. I have worn this with dresses, shorts, rompers, skirts, etc. It definitely has that darling factor that I find so fun.
2. Amazon Palms and Sands Laguna Straw Hat (Similar)
Affordable…..lightweight…….flattering….This is what comes to mind when wearing this hat. I bought this for a day our with my daughters to wear on a picnic. It cost $40 and is comparable to others I found online priced in the $200’s. This hat sold quickly after my last post but I linked an almost identical one. I love the rolled edges that give it a little character. It looks like a hat you would garden in and so I wore it with a pretty Rebecca Taylor skirt. That post will be up shortly on the blog.
3. Hat Attack Rosé All Day Straw Hat
Of course this hat is right up my alley. I love a good glass of rosé just as much as I do champagne. I wore this wine tasting at Wente here. This hat cost under $100 and comes in other embroidered sayings. I have the “Bon Voyage” one on my wish list. Hey Neil, hint, hint…..my birthday is Friday…..One can wish can’t she?
This is definitely a splurge item but once you put it on, you won’t want to take it off. It really is darling. The large brim definitely protects your face and neck from sun while giving a cute rhinestone message on the back. I bought this on a 50% off flash sale months ago when I first came across it. I have worn it in this post here.
5. J. Crew Mauve Blush Wide Brim Hat
Is this not the prettiest color hat you ever did see? J. Crew is one of my favorite brands, period. I love the quality, price and the style and design of their clothing is something that suits me perfectly. Hurry up and order this one whiles it’s 25% off too! I can’t wait to pair this baby up with some of my floral skirts and dresses. It’s too cute to pass up!

This past weekend it snowed here in the foothills and now today it’s going to be 80…. Today will be spent gardening. SAVE AND SHARE THIS RECIPE! This festive #stpatricksday recipe is the perfect lunch/snack for everyone! Being the Irish gal that I am, I like to make fun recipes for the kids and this one is s favorite.
•puff pastry sheets
•corned beef (or you can use pastrami)
•Dijon mustard
•Swiss cheese
•clover cookie cutter
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Use your cookie cutter on the puff pastry. Add Dijon mustard, corned beef and Swiss cheese to half the clovers. Put the remaining puff pastry on top. Use a fork to put down the sides and seal the puff pastry. Then, brush egg wash over them. These will bake for approximately 20 min. Trust me…..these are super easy to make and soooo yummy! #puffpastry

SAVE AND SHARE MY MOST VIEWED RECIPE ! This is one of my favorite and most watched recipes and for good reason! My Ham and Cheese Croissant Bake is SOOOO easy to make and perfect for brunch! This can also be frozen and eaten later! Don’t take my word for it….make it and let me know how fast it was devoured.
•4 large croissants
•12-16 oz of cubed ham
•6 oz of shredded gruyere cheese
•6 oz of shredded cheddar cheese
•1/2 cup chopped chives
•6 eggs
•1 cup half and half
•1 tsp. honey
•1 tsp. Dijon mustard
•salt and pepper
Preheat your oven to 375. In a baking dish (spray with non stick spray) add in croissants, ham, cheese and chives. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, half and half, honey, mustard and salt and pepper. Pour the egg mixture over the bake and press down with a fork. Cover with foil and bake for approximately 50 min. This is such a great family recipe and feeds a good amount of people. Been a little MIA the last couple weeks. It’s been jam packed with root canals, kids with pneumonia and double ear infections 😑. Spent yesterday at the Drs and then hospital for chest x-rays. In between that, Neil and I got away for a weekend to Las Vegas (my first time) and it was so fun and MUCH needed. I also loved that Neil planned it all this time (usually it’s me). He had shows and restaurant reservations all taken care of. It was a nice treat! Now, I’m dealing with getting all the germs out of this house and cleaning from top to bottom.
