My Quick and Easy Jalapeño Popper Recipe

My Easy Jalapeno Popper Recipe

Summer time in our house means BBQ’s multiple times a week; especially on Sundays. We call it “smokin Sunday” and we smoke a variety of meat, fish, vegetables and even beans on our Traeger grill. Not only does it taste amazing, but it sets up my husband for all his lunches he brings to work for the duration of the week. One of my favorite things to make on the grill is my super easy jalapeño popper recipe especially for BBQs and parties. They are seriously a crowd pleaser, if I do say so myself. So today on CCG, I let you in on this easy jalapeño popper recipe that will surely please any BBQ crowd.

What you need:

  • 20 jalapeños
  • 16 oz of cream cheese
  • 30-40 slices of bacon
  • 40 toothpicks
  • (optional) 3-4 oz. bread crumb mix
  • (optional) 4 oz. shredded cheddar cheese

Directions:

  • Clean jalapeños and cut in half.
  • Scrape out all seeds and inside of each jalapeño (do not touch your face before washing your hands! Learned that the hard way a looooong time ago!)
  • In a bowl, mix cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese and breadcrumbs together (This is optional. You can also just use plain cream cheese and it tastes amazing too!)
  • Using a spoon, insert cream cheese into the jalapeño halves ( I put a GENEROUS amount inside because I LOVVVEEEE me some cheese)
  • Take one strip of bacon (or 1/2 for smaller peppers) and wrap it around the pepper
  • Insert a toothpick and secure the bacon in place through the pepper

Grilling Instructions:

We normally put these on first before doing all our wings, burgers etc. so that we can eat them as an appetizer. Line them up along the grill and make sure to check them periodically. They are usually on our smoker for 25 min at smoke then grill at 300-325 degrees for 20 more minutes. If using a regular grill, they should be on the grill for approximately 30 minutes and until the bacon is crispy.
