Holidays in San Francisco with Talbots

I have always wanted to spend the weekend after Thanksgiving in San Francisco. Living so close and quite the shopoholic, , you would think I had done this plenty of times before. Sure, I have woken up at 4 am for Black Friday and ran through the stores in search of that special bargain. Hey, one year, I even spent Thanksgiving dinner in a 4 hour line at Best Buy for a TV for my husband (he was at work all day and thoroughly surprised on Christmas). However, this year, Neil and I decided, okay, more like I begged my husband, to spend the night in the city just the two of us and boy was it fun!

After kissing our kids good bye and leaving them with my in-laws, we drove into San Francisco bright and early. While I was at my hair appointment with my favorite colorist, Katie, Neil went and saw a movie by himself. I think he was more excited to do that then anything else! Since his movie ran late, I took that time to do some shopping in Tory Burch until he arrived.

There is something magical about visiting the city during the holidays and I loved every minute of it.

We decided to eat at one of my favorite seafood restaurants in the Fillmore district, Woodhouse Fish Company. If you are ever craving a lobster roll, this is the place to go. They also have an amazing crab melt. One thing I also always order is their Do-It-Yourself lemonade. There are two locations, however, we have only ever visited the restaurant on Fillmore. Surrounded by designer boutiques and cute little cafes, it’s definitely a fun place to window shop while you work off that large lobster roll!

We walked over to our hotel to check in. It doesn’t get much better than a night at the Fairmont Union Square to fill you up with Christmas spirit. The main lobby is a Christmas Wonderland complete with a life-size two story gingerbread house. Did I mention, it’s made of real gingerbread and icing?!? How impressive is that?

After sitting in the lobby and drinking some champagne, we decided to go to our room and freshen up for a late dinner at the Tonga Room, located on the lower level of the hotel. I have always wanted to eat here and it did not disappoint! They have a live band that play a plethora of awesome music. After two Rainmaker cocktails, which looked like fish bowls for two, I was up singing and dancing to basically every song they played. It’s extremely rare for Neil and I to go out dancing, but I would love to do it more. I don’t even mind that he sits at the table laughing at me. I just keep on dancing. The next morning, we went to breakfast at Le Marais bakery in the Castro. I have a post coming up with all of the delicious details soon! So stay tuned!

I am so excited to team up with Talbots. A husband and wife duo began this New England company back in 1947. It has gone on to become an American staple brand in women’s classic fashion. They produce unique, quality pieces which are also very affordable. I was so happy with the warmth this cape gave and the classic, timeless look it provided. The matching gloves are an added bonus and I know I will reach for this in my closet for years to come. The green sweater also has a fun navy blue pom pom detail. It was the absolute perfect look to wear on our day in San Francisco. I had plenty of room to add extra layers underneath if I wanted to without it looking bulky. Today, if you use the coupon code, Holiday, you can receive 30% off your first item or 40% off two or more. I linked all the items below for easy access.

Up next…..our breakfast at Le Marais and my winter gift and PJ guides. Happy Holidays!
