After what has seemed like ages, my husband and I were finally able to leave our children with Nana and Pop Pop and spend the afternoon at Wente Vineyards. It was a much needed day to unwind, reconnect and relax together one on one. This marks the first time we have been able to leave them since my surgery, after one failed attempt at a movie night a couple months ago.

Nestled in the backroads of Livermore and an hour away from San Francisco, Wente is the oldest family operated vineyard in the country run by fourth and fifth generations of Wente family. It is recognized as not only a premier wine country destination but is also well known for it’s award winning golf course and restaurants.
We arrived there around 11:30 am on a Sunday just as they were setting up a band to play live music. Although my husband has been here plenty of times to play golf in the past and our wedding was catered by Wente at Murrieta’s Well, another Wente owned winery, I myself, have never been wine tasting here! I know, how is that so?
Wente really is a beautiful place to visit. I noticed how luscious and green the grounds were as we walked up the path that leads to the large white stucco Estate. It reminds me of an old Spanish mission in a way. We had a great conversation with the tasting staff and of course my first glass was champagne. After a few minutes of chatting and listening to music, the staff approached us and asked if we wanted to be apart of their soft opening for a new Club Lounge they were opening next to the restaurant. All complementary!
The weeks leading up to this day had been so stressful and chaotic. This was such a nice thing for them to do for us and we gladly accepted. This new lounge is exclusively for Wine Club members. Something my husband and I are now seriously contemplating joining. Members who sign up to receive quarterly wine shipments also receive free tastings and other discounts at Wente. It really is a great program especially if you love wine.
The club lounge is an outdoor section located just outside the restaurant overlooking the pretty vineyards and Estate. As a guest to the new lounge, we had a complementary flight of 5 different wines including chardonnay, rosé and pinot noir. We were also brought a plethora of goodies to pair the wine with. One thing I found amazing is that most of the food prepared for us was grown right here in the Wente garden on site and anything that needs to be brought in is ordered from local farmers within the area and all organic. My favorite favorite part of that meal was the goat cheese hummus. I literally could not stop eating it and could have licked the bowl clean if I weren’t in public. There was not one thing we didn’t enjoy eating on this menu. I recommend it all.
Don’t you think this dress is the perfect wine tasting dress?! This is one of my favorite finds this season and right now, it’s 20% off with free overnight shipping. It also comes in two other colors, blue and black. No pockets, however, since it was a date with my husband, I brought along a matching pink cross body that fit all of the essentials. I chose to wear it with these Madewell sandals that are not only super comfy but adorable. Since I am on the taller side, I am always searching for cute flats that don’t make my feet look huge in the process. These definitely fit the bill.
I bought this hat hoping I could wear it wine tasting at some point! I have noticed sun hats displaying slogans or writing is all the rage right now. You can see my Eugenia Kim “Darling Hat I wore a few weeks back, here. This one has “Rosé All Day” embroidered on the back.
It was so nice to spend some quality time with my husband, Neil. With everything that keeps us busy as a family of six, I think it’s extremely important to make time one on one. Hopefully we can make it happen more often in the months ahead.
I also wanted to quickly mention a new app that is totally amazing and one I am so happy I can be apart of. The Trove App is a premier mobile style and shopping platform where you can follow me, access my looks and purchase them all within the same app! It’s definitely worth checking out. Please use this link, TheTroveApp, to download it now and see for yourself how fantastic it really is!

Disneyland 2026 šš» I made it yaāll. Definitely sore, and fatigued and sleep deprived and the back pain is insane. But I did it. š¤£...
I debated jumping on the bandwagon to share my 2016 throwback. In all honesty, 2016 was the hardest year of my life. Itās something that Iām reminded of daily in this never ending cycle of chronic pain and illness. For those that are new here, in 2016 I underwent 3 surgeries within 4 days. My 14 level spine surgery consisted of 2 surgeries going through my back and side, and then I needed an emergency bowel resection 3 days later due to my colon twisting and flipping on itself. When I woke up from my spine surgery, I immediately moved my right foot and tried to then move my left. It turned out, they knicked my spinal cord and damaged it. I had no feeling in my left leg or foot. Didnāt know if I was moving it and it felt like nothing was there. I remember immediately panicking and because I still had a tube in my mouth, they gave me a paper to write down what was wrong. Drs came in and told my husband and I that they werenāt sure if Iād walk again and definitely sure I wouldnāt be dancing. I lost 25 lbs, a Picc line was put in to try and get me any nutrition. I threw up bile in bucket after bucket.
I didnāt see my kids for 3 1/2 weeks and then had to be moved to a nursing facility. Once home, I had nurses and PT that would come to our house because staying in that facility and not seeing my kids drove me insane (my youngest was only 17 months old). Neil had to shower me, and wipe my butt š. I went through 18 months of PT pushing myself to prove them all wrong. When I think about the last 10 years (and 2016 in particular), it has been a nonstop uphill battle for me. During that same year, we learned that both our daughters would then be diagnosed with the same thing. This is why I keep pushing forward no matter how I feel mentally or physically. I need to show these kids that mama can handle it and I want them to remember how strong Iāve tried to be because some day they may be faced with this same decision. I played this song on repeat laying in the hospital.
