T-Minus 12 days until Valentine’s Day. I am following up my gift guide for her with a new guide just for the special men in your life. If you have a guy as awesome as my hunk of a husband, then this guide is for you!
Our first Valentine’s Day, Neil surprised me with 20 red heart balloons and a huge bouquet of roses along with other fun gifts. Now, years later and a zoo full of kids, he feels it’s a holiday made up to buy expensive marked up roses and chocolate. The restaurants we frequent will add a new Valentine’s menu of the same items and charge three times the price because why….oh it’s Valentine’s Day. I get it, Neil. I understand where you are coming from. However, sometimes you have to just pony up for the sake of love. Ha ha! I love Valentine’s Day! Sure, do I think you should celebrate the love you have with your significant other every day? Yes. I just think it’s great to take the time out and pause to show that special person how much they mean to you. You don’t need gifts, or fancy dinners. One year, I made Neil a booklet of handwritten coupons for him to cash in. Needless to say, I will probably never do that again, and if I do, he will know they are worthless because I don’t let him cash them in! Well, sometimes. Although, he seems to do it when I am annoyed with him on purpose. Oh, you want a back rub? Sure get to that yourself, hun. That coupon is expired….
I am poking fun at Neil, but I will also add that he is the most loyal person you will meet. He works so incredibly hard to provide for the kids and me. He took care of me for months when I was not able to care for myself, and although he’s very stubborn and a huge know-it-all, he will drop everything to be there for me if I need him. How many husband’s do you know that would totally support your crazy wife’s idea to start a fashion blog, research and buy a camera and then learn to be the photographer behind all those pictures? I am so lucky to have him in my life. Anyhoo….. Some of these items on my gift guide list I have purchased for my husband over the years and he thought they were awesome. I hope my guide gives you some ideas for the perfect V-day gift, because you just can’t go wrong with a chambong. Am I right or am I right? Check out the list below and let me know your favorite item!

Disneyland 2026 🙌🏻 I made it ya’ll. Definitely sore, and fatigued and sleep deprived and the back pain is insane. But I did it. 🤣...
I debated jumping on the bandwagon to share my 2016 throwback. In all honesty, 2016 was the hardest year of my life. It’s something that I’m reminded of daily in this never ending cycle of chronic pain and illness. For those that are new here, in 2016 I underwent 3 surgeries within 4 days. My 14 level spine surgery consisted of 2 surgeries going through my back and side, and then I needed an emergency bowel resection 3 days later due to my colon twisting and flipping on itself. When I woke up from my spine surgery, I immediately moved my right foot and tried to then move my left. It turned out, they knicked my spinal cord and damaged it. I had no feeling in my left leg or foot. Didn’t know if I was moving it and it felt like nothing was there. I remember immediately panicking and because I still had a tube in my mouth, they gave me a paper to write down what was wrong. Drs came in and told my husband and I that they weren’t sure if I’d walk again and definitely sure I wouldn’t be dancing. I lost 25 lbs, a Picc line was put in to try and get me any nutrition. I threw up bile in bucket after bucket.
I didn’t see my kids for 3 1/2 weeks and then had to be moved to a nursing facility. Once home, I had nurses and PT that would come to our house because staying in that facility and not seeing my kids drove me insane (my youngest was only 17 months old). Neil had to shower me, and wipe my butt 🙈. I went through 18 months of PT pushing myself to prove them all wrong. When I think about the last 10 years (and 2016 in particular), it has been a nonstop uphill battle for me. During that same year, we learned that both our daughters would then be diagnosed with the same thing. This is why I keep pushing forward no matter how I feel mentally or physically. I need to show these kids that mama can handle it and I want them to remember how strong I’ve tried to be because some day they may be faced with this same decision. I played this song on repeat laying in the hospital.

I’m loving #11 and #15! We don’t really do gifts on V-day, just because, but I do always get my hubs a card. I love giving cards and feel that they are really thoughtful! I’m for sure saving this for future reference for guy’s gifts too!
xoxo, Natalie
