What a whirlwind weekend full of fun! I can honestly say Neil and I had the time of our lives visiting Denver, Colorado. This was the first trip to Denver for both of us and it turned out to be a trip we will fondly remember for years to come. Our stay at the Renaissance Downtown Denver was amazing and today on CCG, I wanted to gush about all the details of our fun-filled weekend getaway there enjoying the “Mother’s Love” package.
Neil and I hadn’t flown on a plane since our wedding. No joke. So, to say we were a little anxious to fly would be an understatement. I think once you have kids, it just changes the way you think about flying without them; at least it did for us. Now that we have ripped the band-aid off, so to speak, we are eager to start traveling by plane more often! We arrived in Denver in the morning and received a complimentary transfer to the Renaissance Hotel in Downtown Denver and the staff were able to accommodate an early check-in.
The Renaissance Downtown Denver Hotel is located within Denver’s beautiful Colorado Bank Building. It truly is a one of a kind hotel with updated modern amenities. The lobby is gorgeous and boasts sixteen murals, originally installed in 1925 by famous Colorado muralist, Allen Tupper True. It truly is a sight to behold and we felt like we were transported back in time. The Renaissance Hotel is home to an award winning restaurant, Range, as well as the fabulous Teller Bar and illy’s Caffe (Illy’s is open on weekdays only). Also, one cool fact, is that there are only 7 illy’s within the US and Renaissance has one! Several original bank vaults are still in place in the hotel lobby as well as meeting areas. You can even schedule meetings to take place within them! It definitely makes this hotel unique.
My husband, Neil, was also very impressed with the gym. He said, hands down, it was the best hotel work out space he has seen thus far.
The “Mother’s Love” Package at Renaissance Downtown Denver Hotel
Our stay included the add on “Mother’s Love” package. It’s perfect for that worn out mama who would like a little pampering. You could make it a girls trip, a trip for just yourself, or in my case, a worn out mama AND papa trip.
This package it totally for someone who needs a mini vacation to relax and unwind! It was amazing and I loved every second of being pampered.
We made our way to our room to freshen up and then went exploring downtown. The room was spacious and clean and we felt right at home. The hotel is literally blocks away from fantastic restaurants, a plethora of stores to get your shop on, the historic train station, Pepsi center, Coors Field and Mile High Stadium. Basically, EVERYTHING is within reach and easy to get to when visiting Denver. We also noticed there are so many different activities and events to go to. You will never feel bored! We chose to stop by Rhein Haus for some snacks. The warm pretzel’s and cheese hit the spot.
With a few hours to spare, we decided to Uber to the Red Rock Amphitheater. It’s only about a 15-20 min ride and SO worth it! We could not come to Denver without experiencing this place. What a pretty corner of the World it is over here. The view was magical.
On the way back to the hotel, our Uber driver let us know Maroon 5 was playing 3 minutes from the hotel. Knowing this is my favorite band EVER, Neil bought some tickets for the concert the next night. Score!
We arrived back to the Renaissance Downtown Denver hotel just in time for Happy Hour at Range. Range serves a New American West menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We ordered a variety of appetizers including their Field and Stream charcuterie board, the Burrata Toast, House Smoked Spare Ribs and Sweet Potato Hushpuppies. Literally everything we ate was delicious. We scarfed them down with a few cocktails and went back to our room where we were treated with champagne and chocolate covered strawberries!
The next morning, we ordered breakfast in bed from Range. Can I just mention how much I LOVED their Green Eggs and Ham Benedict?! Instead of an ordinary English muffin, it was a cheddar bacon biscuit and the hollandaise sauce was infused with jalapeños. Seriously fantastic. We also ordered the Banana Bread French Toast as well as an omelet and fresh orange juice and coffee. YUM. Once we were stuffed full (I actually think I had Neil roll me off the bed, haha), we decided to explore the Renaissance hotel for a bit and relax in the lobby and then made a plan to take a walk to the Denver Union Station. Along the way, we did some window shopping and grabbed a coffee. It was the perfect afternoon in Denver.
Later, we figured since the food at Range was so amazing, we would eat an early dinner there before the Maroon 5 concert. The decor in Range is the perfect blend of rustic chic and you instantly felt cozy and relaxed. The Crispy Goat Cheese Fritters were the perfect appetizer and our steak and lamb did not disappoint. The staff at Range were truly pleasant and helpful and we had a wonderful time.
Of course, the concert was AMAZING! We didn’t think this trip could get any better and then………. it did. I have been a huge Maroon 5 fan from the beginning. My husband often jokes that my celebrity crush is Adam Levine. Have you ever watched those crazy fans that cry when they see a celebrity? Yeeeeaaahhhhh…..well that was me. Where is the palm to face emoji when you need one? It truly was a dream come true and we left the concert on cloud 9. I also want to mention, we were able to walk there and back! It’s that close to the hotel. I am not joking when I say the Renaissance Downtown Denver Hotel is right smack dab in the middle of everything!
We woke up the next morning so happy and relaxed. This was just the trip we needed to reconnect and unwind. We quickly got dressed, grabbed a coffee at illy’s caffe and headed to Syrup for breakfast. After breakfast, we did a little more exploring before it was time to leave.
Once at the airport, we stopped by Root Down DIA. If you saw my insta-stories you would have seen how much I raved about their duck wings. They were amazing and I should have ordered three plates of them! So, if you ever find yourself in the Denver International Airport, GO THERE. SO yummy!
We want to extend a big thank you to Renaissance for our wonderful experience there. It was such a memorable trip and I owe that largely in part to their amazing hotel and staff. If you are looking for a fun travel destination, look no further! The Renaissance Downtown Denver has got you covered! Don’t forget to inquire about the Mother’s Love Package to add onto your stay. Because, let’s face it, who doesn’t need or want a little pampering?

Wow, even if I couldn’t stay at that hotel in Denver it would be worth it to visit just to see the lobby! I have a thing for beautiful old buildings, especially ceilings with such detail! They sure don’t build them like that anymore. I wonder if modern builders would even know how?
