This is a sponsored post for Station House Inn, Lake Tahoe. However, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
Neil whisked me away to Lake Tahoe for a MUCH NEEDED weekend. Normally, we take several trips to Lake Tahoe during the Winter with the kids (which we do love to do). However, the last time we ventured out to Lake Tahoe without them was 6 years ago! 6 years too long in my opinion…. We stayed at the fabulous Station House Inn. Read on as I share all the details on our trip and this amazing property located in South Lake Tahoe.
The Station House Inn has been hosting travelers since 1972. Located between the mountains and the lake, Station House Inn is walking distance or a short drive to Lake Tahoe’s top attractions. Right outside their doors are the beautiful alpine, lake, private beach, ski resorts, restaurants, shops and casinos.
Services and Amenities:
Since Neil was able to take Friday off work, we got an early start to the day. We headed to Truckee first to grab lunch before driving around the lake and pulling into Station House Inn located in South Lake Tahoe. If you have time on your hands and want to take the scenic route, I would highly suggest this. It doesn’t matter what time of year, it’s stunningly picturesque with each and every turn you take! We’ve stayed plenty of places all around the Lake and South Lake Tahoe is our favorite place to call home while visiting. You are a walking distance to just about EVERYTHING.
Upon arrival at Station House Inn, we were greeted with a warm welcome by the general manager, Alexsei. The hotel lobby is adorable and the rustic lodge charm and large brick fireplace make you feel instantly at home. There are various sitting areas along with board games, tables and cozy little nooks to lounge. Along with complimentary coffee, they also offered us a welcome punch cocktail, which we definitely took them up on! In all honesty, I could have sat in their lobby for hours staring at the amazing fireplace!
Right outside the lobby doors, is a fun outdoor sitting area with swings and a few firepits. They also have a pool (completely covered in snow after this last storm), which we are super excited to utilize on our next trip here!
Station House Inn also offers free movie nights with popcorn and many other items for purchase including s’mores kits.

Our room was spacious and cozy. Our king suite had a separate living room which was thoughtfully designed. One thing I noticed, was how many areas the room had for storage. This is something we always feel is lacking when staying in Tahoe hotels, especially when you have wet snow gear and nowhere to put it! Station House Inn has that covered and then some! Our room was equipped with a microwave, coffee maker and mini refrigerator…..SUPER convenient. We had a back porch with a large slider in the bedroom. It was amazing waking up to snow the next morning, sipping coffee and watching it in bed.

Toulouse Restaurant
We ate breakfast the next morning at Station House Inn’s on-site restaurant, Toulouse. Toulouse serves fresh seasonal New Orleans style cuisine for travelers and locals alike. I ordered the Big Easy French Toast and Neil ordered an omelet. Can I just say…Wow! My French toast was delicious. Covered in bananas, pecan butter, chopped pecans and whipped cream, I was in heaven! I could have licked the plate clean, no joke!
After a day of snowshoeing and hiking, we did take another trip back to Toulouse for drinks and wings. THE WINGS! Being the daughter of a New Yorker, buffalo wings are a staple in our family. I order wings anytime we go anywhere. I guess I’m sort of a “wing connoisseur”, if you will…. Toulouse’s Spicy Cajun wings were a mix between buffalo and BBQ and they were out of this World. We loved them so much, we ordered a second helping!

Neil and I had an amazing time at Station House Inn. One thing I feel absolutely separates them from all the other South Lake Tahoe hotels is their impeccable customer service and amazing homey accommodations. Hands down, they have THE BEST staff! They went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and enjoyed our stay. Station House Inn genuinely cares about their guests and that was evident during our entire stay.
Our last night in Tahoe, we spend the evening at Toulouse, where the owners and staff made lasting impressions on us. Not only did we thoroughly enjoy ourselves, and love the drinks and food, Neil and I left that night making new friends, giving hugs and had beads draped around our necks. Haha! So, thank you Steve, Adrienne and Greg for making our last night fun and memorable. It was such a great end to our already amazing stay at Station House Inn, and we can’t wait until we stay/eat here again.
Thank you so much to the Station House Inn for letting Neil and I experience your hotel. What a blast!

Did you read part one on our trip to Lake Tahoe earlier in the week? …
So excited to share with you our weekend getaway to Lake Tahoe. I am so …
Wishing my room actually looked like this right now. It’s currently filled will piles of laundry waiting to be folded after our trip....
Disneyland 2026 🙌🏻 I made it ya’ll. Definitely sore, and fatigued and sleep deprived and the back pain is insane. But I did it. 🤣...
I debated jumping on the bandwagon to share my 2016 throwback. In all honesty, 2016 was the hardest year of my life. It’s something that I’m reminded of daily in this never ending cycle of chronic pain and illness. For those that are new here, in 2016 I underwent 3 surgeries within 4 days. My 14 level spine surgery consisted of 2 surgeries going through my back and side, and then I needed an emergency bowel resection 3 days later due to my colon twisting and flipping on itself. When I woke up from my spine surgery, I immediately moved my right foot and tried to then move my left. It turned out, they knicked my spinal cord and damaged it. I had no feeling in my left leg or foot. Didn’t know if I was moving it and it felt like nothing was there. I remember immediately panicking and because I still had a tube in my mouth, they gave me a paper to write down what was wrong. Drs came in and told my husband and I that they weren’t sure if I’d walk again and definitely sure I wouldn’t be dancing. I lost 25 lbs, a Picc line was put in to try and get me any nutrition. I threw up bile in bucket after bucket.
I didn’t see my kids for 3 1/2 weeks and then had to be moved to a nursing facility. Once home, I had nurses and PT that would come to our house because staying in that facility and not seeing my kids drove me insane (my youngest was only 17 months old). Neil had to shower me, and wipe my butt 🙈. I went through 18 months of PT pushing myself to prove them all wrong. When I think about the last 10 years (and 2016 in particular), it has been a nonstop uphill battle for me. During that same year, we learned that both our daughters would then be diagnosed with the same thing. This is why I keep pushing forward no matter how I feel mentally or physically. I need to show these kids that mama can handle it and I want them to remember how strong I’ve tried to be because some day they may be faced with this same decision. I played this song on repeat laying in the hospital.
