This is a sponsored post for Hardware Hut. However, all opinions are my own.
You Guys!!!! This is probably our FAVORITE new feature that we added to our home thus far! Annoyed by our large ugly garbage can and the fact that we didn’t have a space for it in the new home, we decided to look for a solution. While looking at pulls for our kitchen cabinetry on Hardware Hut, we came across the fantastic DIY Pull Out Garbage Containers which are installed into one of your existing cabinets. Read on to find out just how simple this installation is and how awesome it looks when finished!
I’m so lucky to have such a handy handsome husband (I know, I know. I’m always bragging at how handsome he is). The Rev-A-Shelf kit, from Hardware Hut, came with two garbage cans as well as all the parts to complete this project. More importantly, it arrive with very detailed instructions and even a template!
Due to the size of the cabinet we chose to use for this install, Neil had to make a quick drive over to Home Depot to grab a piece of wood. Since I am not THAT handy, I’m going to let Neil take it from here and explain the step by step process via our compiled Instagram stories (video below) since he did the work and I was in charge of the snacks!
Take it away Neil….. Here’s his YouTube debut. Ha!
It took Neil about 30 minutes from start finish! If you are handy with tools, it shouldn’t take more than 30 minutes, although prepare for an hour just in case. The template was so easy to use too! Click HERE to purchase your own! I linked the same exact one we used in our cabinet and it’s fantastic! We use one bin for recyclables and the other for garbage. Hardware Hut has a variety of styles to fit any cabinet. We absolutely love ours and it’s definitely a must if you don’t want a garbage can out in the open like we did before! Also, check out our cabinet pulls! These are also from Hardware Hut and can be purchased, HERE. You can also check out my last post on that install, HERE.
We chose to install the Rev-A-Shelf Pull Out Garbage Containers in the cabinet directly to the right of our kitchen sink. Using the template, Neil installed the bottom metal bracket into the cabinet. He then attached a wood board to the back of our cabinet door (the cabinet we chose was too wide but if you have a standard cabinet, you are good to go) and then he installed the garbage can holder frame to the wood/cabinet door.
All in all, it was a super quick and easy process. We absolutely love this new feature to our kitchen. Let me know what you think! It’s the simple things in life, right?!?!
I waited for this moment since we bought our home! I had always wanted to …
I’m so excited for this reveal! Neil and I put a lot of sweat equity …
