I’m so excited to finally share a piece of our new home with all of you! It’s been a crazy couple months of packing, moving, unpacking and of course, decorating. We have so many DIY projects and decorating to do(the majority of windows still have paper on them), however, I wanted to give you a peek into our kitchen and the DIY Kitchen improvements we have made so far.
Living in the Bay Area, California is CRAZY expensive. When looking for the perfect home to buy, Neil and I had a few must haves on our list and then areas we were willing to compromise on. We wanted to find a home that would fit the 6 of us comfortably, be easy to entertain in, and have space in areas of the house that would be more utilized. We stuck with a budget and so began the hunt for the right house. The cute craftsman style home we eventually purchased was a new build but the options and finishes were already picked (the kitchen was white and that’s all I cared about ha)! Although the kitchen had my white cabinets, it was missing those little details that made it pop.
One of our favorite DIY home improvements we have made thus far is the addition of brass cabinet pulls to all our white kitchen cabinetry. We partnered up with Hardware Hut, a division of Spokane Hardware Supply, who has an extensive variety of any pull or knob you could possible need. Our white plain kitchen received a pretty little facelift! Not only were they easy to install (they even have video tutorials), but they added that perfect amount of detail to our brand new kitchen. I am thrilled with the choice we made and it literally makes me happy every time I enter our kitchen. Not only do the Lewis Brass pulls look chic, the quality is excellent and very reasonably priced! They come in a variety of lengths as well!
BEFORE
You do not have to be a home improvement guru to tackle this either! Once you figure out your measurements, and hold your breath during the first one, it ends up being a breeze! My handy husband, Neil, and my father-in-law spent approximately 2-3 hours installing 40 pulls. The best part…..not one misstep! Measurements are key! You can head over to Instagram under my “Home” stories to see the process, here. They did an excellent job installing the pulls while I did an excellent job vacuuming up the sawdust and getting snacks!
