I’m sorry for such a long break in between posts! I have been, yet again, dealing with some not so fun medical issues. I will post an update on that once I have all the information but for now, let’s talk Spring wardrobe! Today on CCG, I am sharing my favorite skirts for Spring.
It’s FriYay! Last weekend, Neil, the kids and I spent the weekend up in Lake Tahoe again. It was our third trip in 6 weeks and boy did we have fun. If you watch my Instagram stories, you can see how much snow Lake Tahoe got over the course of three trips. So pretty. I also ended up buying more pjs for the boys to match Emma and me. So watch out for that picture coming soon. Ha! This week, I got some great questions and I have answered those all below for my Friday Q&A.
One trend I am fully embracing and have always loved, is the polka dot! I find the pattern to be classic and utterly adorable. Polka dots look great on just about anyone and at any age! Cooking a meal at home for your lovie or need a dessert for Valentine’s Day? Not only is this easy to make, it’s pretty and delicious too! Frequently, my four year old requests to watch Martha Bakes on PBS (which I think is adorable). We saw a recipe for a raspberry tart made last year and immediately made it the next day. My husband was impressed and the kids enjoyed it. It’s definitely a statement of a dessert and super easy to make. Read on below for my take on Martha’s recipe for a raspberry tart!

This past weekend it snowed here in the foothills and now today it’s going to be 80…. Today will be spent gardening. I’ve noticed that when I’m in the yard planting flowers in my flower box and spend time out there, it really makes me happy and relaxes me. What’s something you do that makes you happy?

You can repeat this tip multiple times on the same bouquet to get maximum use out of your fresh blooms! Simply, cut a small portion off the bottom of the stem, dip in ALUM (found in the spice section of the grocery store) and stick in cold water. I promise you, this trick works. SAVE AND SHARE THIS RECIPE! This festive #stpatricksday recipe is the perfect lunch/snack for everyone! Being the Irish gal that I am, I like to make fun recipes for the kids and this one is s favorite.
•puff pastry sheets
•corned beef (or you can use pastrami)
•Dijon mustard
•Swiss cheese
•clover cookie cutter
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Use your cookie cutter on the puff pastry. Add Dijon mustard, corned beef and Swiss cheese to half the clovers. Put the remaining puff pastry on top. Use a fork to put down the sides and seal the puff pastry. Then, brush egg wash over them. These will bake for approximately 20 min. Trust me…..these are super easy to make and soooo yummy! #puffpastry

SAVE AND SHARE MY MOST VIEWED RECIPE ! This is one of my favorite and most watched recipes and for good reason! My Ham and Cheese Croissant Bake is SOOOO easy to make and perfect for brunch! This can also be frozen and eaten later! Don’t take my word for it….make it and let me know how fast it was devoured.
•4 large croissants
•12-16 oz of cubed ham
•6 oz of shredded gruyere cheese
•6 oz of shredded cheddar cheese
•1/2 cup chopped chives
•6 eggs
•1 cup half and half
•1 tsp. honey
•1 tsp. Dijon mustard
•salt and pepper
Preheat your oven to 375. In a baking dish (spray with non stick spray) add in croissants, ham, cheese and chives. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, half and half, honey, mustard and salt and pepper. Pour the egg mixture over the bake and press down with a fork. Cover with foil and bake for approximately 50 min. This is such a great family recipe and feeds a good amount of people.
